Christine - Most nervous I've ever been

Television presenter Christine Bleakley has admitted that has "never, ever been more nervous" than she was on her 'Strictly Come Dancing' debut.

'The One Show' host said that she was consumed by nerves when she danced the foxtrot with her professional dance partner Matthew Cutler last Saturday night.

Speaking on 'It Takes Two', Bleakley said: "Suddenly we have to dance in front of the nation."

"And to be honest, on a personal level, I was even more nervous because my entire family had flown from Northern Ireland and they were all sitting there."

"It was just incredible. I've never, ever been more nervous. Out of anything that I've ever done, that tops it."

"Give me 'The One Show' one hundred times over. As I say, it's nothing I've ever done before or even attempted to do, and to think four weeks ago I couldn't have told you what a foxtrot was."

Is it the end for Lisa & Brendan?

Lisa Snowdon & Brendan Cole apparently had a tearful bust up after the live Saturday show

According to the Daily Star, BBC bosses had to persuade the couple to resume rehearsals yesterday.

An insider revealed: “Brendan went off into one of his moods and Lisa couldn’t understand what she’d done.

“She was devastated, crying and sobbing. It was very harrowing. She was very upset.

“After Brendan stormed off there was a feeling they might not get back together.

“There was a lot of sweet-talking to try to persuade them to kiss and make up.”

On It Takes Two last night Claudia Winkleman spoke to Lisa on the phone trying to find out just what had happened.

Lisa said “I couldn’t understand what I’d done to upset him. I thought he was angry with me but he wasn’t.

“He did storm off but we have now begun training again and all is OK.”

Claudia, 36, added: “Brendan’s just a grumpy soul.”

Andrew's wife not jealous

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Andrew Castle says his wife is not jealous of his sexy partner, Ola Jordan.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Andrew Castle says his wife is not jealous of his sexy partner, Ola Jordan.

The 44-year-old GMTV presenter said he loves his wife Sophia and they are "past that age".

In an interview with New! magazine, Castle said it was not hard to concentrate when his Polish-born dancing partner wore skimpy outfits, as she was his boss.

He said: "If she was my age, perhaps it wouldn't be so suitable, but Ola's a beautiful girl and she knows how to move.

"She's one of the most athletic and supple creatures in the world."

Asked how his wife felt, Castle said: "Sophia and I have never been jealous of one another.

"That would be just silly. We're past that age now and I love Sophia, thanks very much!"

The father-of-two said his dance partner's husband James Jordan, who is another dancer on the show, had also become his friend.

Telling how he had previously not been on a dancefloor since his wedding day in 1991, Castle said of his decision to participate: "I just thought: 'Oh to hell with it'. 'I'm too old and ugly not to!'"

He said he was egged on by his GMTV colleagues Fiona Phillips and Kate Garraway, who also took part in the competition previously.

Anton devastated by axing

It was a battle of the dance floor divas as Gillian Taylforth was voted off BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing – the first female celebrity to leave the competition.

After performing a foxtrot, the combination of the viewer votes and judges' scores left Gillian and her partner Anton du Beke in the bottom two with Jodie Kidd and Ian Waite.

Both couples had to perform a second time for the judges' deciding vote.

Of Gillian and Anton's dance the judges said –

Arlene Phillips: "Gillian, when you started we saw lots of the fox but gradually as it went on we saw less and less of the trot and at one point almost pushing and trying to lead Anton. It's a romantic dance – melt in his arms and it will all happen for you." Score: 5.

Bruno Tonioli: "Gillian, compared to his previous partners you're Ginger Rogers and that is something. The intro was great but I know what happened – butterflies in the stomach. You tightened up and by doing so your frame went. You were hanging onto him for dear life." Score: 6.

Craig Revel Horwood: "I though it was a little rough around the edges. There was a bit of gapping going on but that's easily solved. When you did your heel turn it looked like it was on the whole foot rather than lifting the toes up but not a complete disaster." Score: 4.

Len Goodman: "Well some people look for the bad in everything. I always look for the good and I've got to say I loved the start. You had great musicality. I watched your footwork and I thought that was beautiful. I loved the whole routine and the performance. Tighten up your diaphragm and lift your ribcage." Score: 7.

The judges gave them a total of 22 out of 40 for their performance.

After the dance-off, Jodie and Ian were saved by Craig, Arlene and Bruno who all voted for them to stay in the competition, leaving head judge Len to comment on the couples rather than vote.

Len said: "I was disappointed that two foxtrots were in the bottom two, it's such a difficult dance and doesn't have the wow factor of the salsa. But I just want to say that Gillian and Anton were stood on the steps clapping along and cheering for Jodie and Ian; it was great spirit."

After Gillian and Anton's elimination, Gillian said: "I have really enjoyed myself, it's been great. Anton's wonderful."
